Mourning Jewelry 10K Gold Woven Hair Brooch

Offering a piece of history, a Victorian hair brooch with strands of woven brown hair, expertly crafted into a 10K gold brooch. A piece of mourning jewelry, symbolizing remembrance and eternal love. This tiny pin tested to 10K both  frame and back, it is approx. 3/4" x 1/2 " with a total weight of 2.05 gms. Pictured next to a dime for size reference. 

This piece is one of many from a private collector that decided to sell after 50+ years of collecting Victorian Mourning Jewelry. She has no family and was afraid that someone wouldn’t know what the collection was and throw it away. She and her husband traveled to England every year to add to the collection. She is a long time customer of the antiques shop and she trusted us to purchase and find new homes for her treasured pieces.
